One day at a time

There’s a saying that reads “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” I have heard it too many times to count because of my previous background in sports. When getting ready for a game, one my coaches used to say “It’s never as good as it seems, and it’s never as bad as it seems.” The message that he was trying to convey according to my own understanding was that consistency will give you all the tools to shine.

Similar to the first saying I shared, you cannot expect yourself to do everything in one day.It takes time and effort to get good at what you want to do. If that is sports, then you have to practice. If that’s drawing/animating (me), then you have to practice. Whatever the skill that you wish to possess is, you must divide your time in such a way that you can practice that skill.

I hope this post helps someone out there to give a consistent stretch of time to their dream skill. You can do it! You just have to work on it in a consistent way. I am also speaking to myself. I am in no way a master of my craft. But I can say with confidence that I am certainly trying my best. That’s all I can do and let the cards fall where they may. Keep going and be encouraged because you my friend are like me and I am like you. Let’s try our best and leave the rest to luck and chance. You did your part.
